Obituary: Dunhill London Wallet, 2003 to 2006

filed under Dunhill

My dunhill walletToday, I finally decided to replace my wallet that had served me for the last two and a half years. It's a 8CC dunhill wallet from the London collection (see left).

Actually I'm amazed I could stick with this wallet for such a long time (2 1/2 years is long for me) because I never really liked it. I've got no complaints about the design. In my eyes, it's definitely one of the most stylish dunhill collections and it bears my favorite "d" logo, which you can no longer find on the newer collections. (The logo hardware on the newer collections look really lame). However the leather scratches so easily that it became really stressful carrying it. And for some reasons, it's rather sticky so fine particles get stuck on the leather as well. I have no idea why.

So anyway, after two and a half years of gentle usage, there are countless scratch marks on the front and back of the wallet. So I decided to ditch it. My new wallet is one by Aigner. I had an enjoyable time transferring stuff from my old dunhill wallet to my new Aigner wallet. And it has a slot that's ideal for 5-6 pieces of business cards. That's a pleasant surprise.

It's been a long time since I carried a wallet with an I.D. window. This new wallet has one. Initially I filled it up with my driver's license. Then I thought it looked really pathetic, or rather it makes me feel really pathetic. So I just left it empty, for the time being.
