Mont Blanc Meisterstuck Destined To Become Timeless Classics

filed under Mont Blanc

I'm writing this entry on a lazy Sunday afternoon at the Book Cafe along Mohd Sultan. This used to be my favorite haunt until the latch (or whatever you call it) holding up my Dell laptop's LCD screen broke. Since then we've not been very mobile cos its LCD screen needs to be supported by a heavy box for it to sit upright. With my new Dell Inspiron 630m, I'm happy to be back on my feet again.

In a previous entry Classic Wallets That Never Go Out Of Style, I talked about the Meisterstuck collection by Mont Blanc as a line of men's fine leather goods destined to become timeless classics.

And why shouldn't it? Mont Blanc Meisterstuck has one of the most comprehensive range of leather goods - briefcases, wallets, key chains, business card holders, coin cases, pen cases, desk accessories, diaries and organizers. I didn't really do a count but there are easily 30 products within the Meisterstuck leather collection. The only other leather collection I can think of right now that's as comprehensive is CL2 by Porsche Design. It's interesting that most people only pay attention to Italian-made leather goods without realizing that the best men's leather goods come from Germany (at least in my humble opinion).

The leather collection was a natural extension of the hugely successful Meisterstuck line of fine writing instruments. And whoever designed it in the 1940s did a great job relating the leather goods to the writing instruments. Each piece is made of black fullgrain calfskin fitted with the brand's signature "star" logo.

And what I find most admirable about Mont Blanc is that the brand doesn't rest on its laurels. You see constant improvements to the collection to keep it relevant with the times. Initially gold-plated hardware was used. But they have recently updated the hardware with palladium-plated ones.

The packaging also went through a significant revamp recently. The new packaging looks more classy. (And a lot heavier. Not good for shipping). It's obvious they have taken a few pointers from Cartier's packaging. Not surprising since Mont Blanc and Cartier are both owned by the Richemont Group.

Some of the all-time bestseller from the Meisterstuck collection are:

Mont Blanc Meisterstuck key fob because it's cheap (for lack of a better word) and it makes a great gift.
Mont Blanc Meisterstuck money clip wallet because it's simply one of the most stylish money clip wallets around.
Mont Blanc 3-pen case because you'll need an equally expensive pen case to keep your precious Mont Blanc Meisterstuck fountain pen.
Mont Blanc Meisterstuck USD wallet because it's sleek and stylish. It also helps that it's one of the cheapest billfold wallets in the collection.
Mont Blanc Meisterstuck business card holder because it's prudent and discreet and just serves its sole purpose of making a good impression.
